Seaview Cottages

Eight cottages near the Alaska Junction, built largely from reclaimed lumber.

Seaview Cottages from the street

Eight 2-bedroom, 1.5-bath homes near the Alaska Junction in West Seattle, developed with sustainable building practices at top of mind.

In partnership with Sledge Construction, the existing house on the lot was deconstructed to harvest reclaimed lumber. The old foundation was ground down and reused on site as structural fill, cutting the trucking and the emissions that come with it.

Every home uses at least 80% reclaimed lumber from the Magnum storage facility in Ballard, and all eight meet the envelope and efficiency requirements of the 4-Star Built Green standard.
